all, i have issues win7 clients not updating sbs2008 wsus. i'm aware of multiple discussion have been going on regard to  kb2720211 &  kb2734608. what has been  done far: since  kb2720211 caused issues waited deploy deployed  kb2734608 following article in article states: "  update 2720211 included in update , strengthens wsus communication channels." assumed fix issue. however, after installing  kb2734608 still have issues on "some" win7 desktops. winxp ok, server 2008 & 2008r2 ok. tried command lines as described in  kb2734608, forced wsus connections, forced wsus registration, nothing helps. so now? should install  kb2720211after all? if  kb2734608 has been installed on server? appreciated. kb2734608 replaces kb2720211 wouldn't worry trying go back. if can provide windowsupdate.log problematic target machine may provide additional clues root cause.

we had forest 2 child domains. 1 of domain controller physical server. due failure of san, have lost infrastructure. want restore parent domain. restore in first domain controller of root domain must authoritative restore or not? , if authoritative, replication of data propagated child domains? hi, we need establish trust relationship between 2 domains of same organization. domain use windows server 2003 r2 sp2 dc , domain b use windows server 2008 sp2 dc. from server 2008 haven't problems doing trust relationship process (but without finishing task) server 2003 error doesn't recognize domain b. pinging domain b domain there no problem using ip or hostname. can tell can problem? thanks in advance. regards. before can set trusts in either direction, have make sure dns infrastructure(s) support these domains know each other's domains. you can accomplish in few ways. 1) set conditional forwarding each domain.  for example, dns servers in domaina should have conditional forwarding configured domain name "domainb" , point domainb dns servers.  do same domainb domaina 2) set secondary zones in each others dns infrastructures.  this option may not viable if security concern , not want dns administrators have copy of other domain records. it

i'm building windows cluster , adding msdtc.  client work wants ip address internal address, not external.  noticed when attempting install msdtc, under networks on client access point screen, network available external one.  there limitation or can force use ip network?  there 2 nics/adapters per node, 1 external , 1 internal heartbeat.  i'm not sure client's request feasible, , cannot find explicit information this.  m d savilla if cluster's network setup "internal only" traffic, cluster prevent creating ip address resources on network.  to work around this, need change cluster's internal network properties , ensure "allow clients connect through network" checkbox selected.  hope helps. visit blog multi-site clustering Windows Server  >  H

hi, i've got dell r510 odd network issues, os 2008 r2 sp1, no nic teaming, builting broadcom bcm5716c double port nic has 2 fixed ips on different subnets. the server restarts fine no boot errors , using console screen able login, unable launch number of things suchs example: network , sharing center local services broadcom advanced controller suite other things event viewer , windows explorer, browsing local disks work fine, server responds ping on hostname , network shares available fine. after 15 minutes, applications , features launch fine , rdp works well. @ stage server behaves percetly normally. concerned network issue symptom of greater problem might affecting backups done on server of remote servers. what have tried off top of head is: different nic settings checked nic bindings different nic drivers (removed, updated) with , without fixed ip address settings (both on dhcp) different switch ports swapped ethernet cables dell support (who advised no hw f
