i'm attempting replace windows server 2003 standard r2 domain controller windows server 2008 standard r2 box. current domain controllers are: windows server 2008 standard r2 (global catalog) (let's call "dc2") windows server 2003 standard r2 (domain controller) (let's call "dc3") i've added active directory domain services role on new windows server 2008 standard r2 box (from on - "dc1"). i've run "adprep /forestprep" command on dc2 , finished correctly. i've attempted run "adprep /domainprep" on dc3 (because it's infrastructure operations manager , because when run "dcpromo" on dc1 demands it) error indicating "adprep.exe" file valid, different machine type. i've considered transferring infrastructure operations manager role dc2, dialog box warns against it. i've 2 active domain controllers , appears can't (shouldn't) transfer infrastructure operations manager

hi forum i have server running windows server 2003 r2 standard. on server have a 6 tb spanned ntfs volume, comprised of 4 dynamic disks, 2 1tb, 2 2tb. bad blocks have been reported on spanned volume/underlying disks. users have reported file corruption on volume. when logging on server, 1 of volumes marked 'offline' in disk management, , volume displayed 'at risk' intermittently. onlining marked offline volume resolves condition, , returns state of volume 'healthy'. i have approximately 11% free disk space. hello im unable  to migrate vm  2008 standard to 2008r2 standard host ive tried hyper-v manager , through scvmm, there update need apply? error  unable migrate or clone virtual machine software ( 6.1.7601.17514 not match version the  virtual machines virtaulization software on source (6.0.6002.18005) thanks paul  what mean when 'migrate' when referring hyper-v manager?  i'm not aware of migrate command there, unless talking quick migration.  if that's case, yes, running version conflict integration services.  have remove integration services on old host before migrating new , install new on new machine. but, if trying export domain controller, is generally better practice create new domain controller , rid of old one.  reason might want export/import if had lot of stuff running on domain controller other active directory, in , of not considered best practice, though there times when might make sense. if you  want migrate it, simpler copy
