i've noticed hyper-v 2012 r2 hosts growing kernel memory, appears doesn't stop grow. one of hosts grew 80gb, server equipped 200gb - it's 50%. only way flush kernel memory restart host. i've done set reserved hyper-v parent host memory, using hklm\software\microsoft\wi ndows nt\currentversion\virtuali zation\mem oryreserve but doesn't seem take effect, kernel memory still growing. please assist. you not need worry paged memory.  means operating system doing job placing 'unnecessary' stuff page file allow real memory used real work.  nonpaged number real number need concerned about, , number seems within bounds of 128gb system.  granted, paged number higher mine, sure running different tasks in parent partition.  example, not running dell utilities.  grins, try stopping utilities see happens.  haven't tried it, if make page file smaller, might make paged number smaller, too.  on hyper-v systems, tend limit page file maximum of 4 gb ini

hello! i've been searching answer years , have decided ask... my home environment has windows server 2012 computers connecting through active directory. there users dont want have access server (my children). well, when setting computers, go windows explorer (or file manager newer versions of windows) , try manually browse server, problem tries login credentials , not give me option enter new credentials. option, not. i've tried going credential manager son's computer, , there's nothing in there. today tried using net user * /delete command , said there nothing delete. on daughter's computer there things in both, still, doesnt ask me credentials after doing that. i've tried force closing explorer.exe after deleting saved credentials , after running net command , still, doesnt prompt me credentials. how on earth windows ask me credentials! i've scoured internet , solutions can find 2 mentioned, dont work me!   since i'm in windows environm

hi everyone, we running windows 2008 r2 domain controllers in forest level windows 2008 r2. have 70+ domain controllers. of virtual running on vmware. only the main data centers having exchange have physical domain controllers. infrastructure upgraded 1 windows 2003.  from last 2 months many virtual domain controllers facing unexpected reboots. there no fixed dc or pattern. have configured kernel crash dump files generated crash dump files not getting generated on 1 of them. the virtual domain controllers have 2.5 gb ram , page file 2.5 gb. if increase page file size issue same. i used notmyfault.exe tool sysinternals check whether manual trigger generates dump file. surprise dump file created successfully. tried different option in notmyfault irp, deadlock etc , in occasions dump file generated successfully. we need find reason why our domain controllers getting rebooted. much appreciated. regards, abhi this may more appropriate article try setting manually.

hi, we have pair of server 2008 dcs, both gc , use ad integrated dns. after migrating servers iaas provider, found quirk meant tool renamed 1 of dcs. don't think changed server's guid. changing name has resolved many of issues, persistently event 5774. after removing , replacing the incorrect entry under _msdcs.[domain] dns folder, able restart netlogon , dns server , dcdiag came clean. used fqdn when recreating cname under _msdcs.[domain]. tested both dcs can resolve record. cname created "allow authenticated user update dns records same name..." we noted had event 414, due non qaulified name server entry under our domain forward zone. if removed incorrect nameserver, created again when dns server service restarted. decided leave monday. its monday , event 5774 symptoms have re-appeared. unable resolve _msdcs entry entered on friday recreating again temporarily resolves 5774 leaving same 414 event , symptom described above. any ideas how permanantly r

hello,   i open case because met troubles windows 2008 r2 , usb hard drive. i bought 10 hard drive connected on 10 dell servers backup. usb hard drives recognized when plugged once server rebooted, hard drive aren't recognized anymore. equipment present on device manager badly recognized (yellow triangle). when open device on device manager met error " windows has stopped device because has reported problems. hello, i'm in lab environment doing testing before deploy. my basic setup: 1 server 2012 r2 domain controller (dc01) 1 server 2012 file server (fs01) 2 windows 7 pro workstations (ws01 & ws02) 4 different users after creating gpo redirecting the "documents" folder, doesn't work. the users folder shows on file server (which pointed to) but not content . in fact 3 out 4 users showed up. i had working before, after deleted gpo , recreated again doesn't work. what i've checked far:   i can navigate shared folder (\\fs01\home\%username%)  under properties of each users "documents" folder, path points local location (c:\users\username) i did add users gpo under "security filtering" (which shouldn't have because "authenticated users" is there default. setting first time rather basic. i'm puzzled why i'm having issues now. please help, hello, according understanding, 2 of 4 users folder redire

hi, i testing new storage server on our san , having trouble mpio.  the storage server running comstar targeting software, luns being presented on fc.  after configuring mpio claim devices present server 2012 server, can see disks appropriate number of paths in round-robin active/active mode.   the problem seeing--well, not sure unexpected--is when remove path disks, path removed mpio device.  if remove paths, disk disappears.  the failed paths not come pack until restart (initiator/server 2012) server.     i think record of path persist in "failed" state until retry successful, in case path brought online.   is there wrong mpio configuration?  or harware/storage server-side problem (details below)?  comstar, far can find, not have dsm.   storage server: - openindiana (current version) - qlogic hbas on server/target - emulex hbas on client/initiator - hp brocade fc switches - comstar targeting software  my mpio settings (updated original posting):

having same issue.  found out happens when using rd web site browser. https://rdp.contoso.com/rdweb in mac remote desktop client, however, can click on button says "remote resources"which right next to  "preferences".  in dialog box enter full url rdweb site.  in case: https://rdp.contoso.com/rdweb enter domain\user information , password abd click "refresh". if configured correctly should see url replaced by: https://rdp.contoso.com/rdweb/feed/webfeed.aspx should see published apps in remote desktop client.  click of applications , should run.  still don't work website, @ least yiu can them work tried suggested , worked. after reboot says username , password not recognized , never connect again, if try same thing mentioned above.  can try delete user from keychain? if still not work remove application , reinstall it.
