Hyper-V Parent Partition RAM Requirements
hi all,
we deploy hyper-v solution based on iscsi san storage several server nodes.
on planning ram distribution i struggling find out the exact ram requirements nodes need parent partition.
they running win2008 hyper-v dc edition.
each node have 16gb ram , run approx 4 guests.
i have read anywhere 512mb 2gb parent partition , os?
can suggest sensible ram allocation sufficient nodes/hosts to run os well?
thanks help.

my answer allocate 2 gb of ram parent partition. while number might seem little bit high people, have margin of safety. common practice have antivirus , system management agents running in parent partition. these utilities cause spikes in resource usage. 2 gb of ram in parent partition, don't have fret having enough ram. if know agents , antimalware programs don't ever use ram, might want monitor usage , cut smaller number.
