hi, because of replication problems checked ntfrs service on 1 domain controller. service set disable, changed start automatically. after tried start service, failed following error message: windows not start file replicaiton service on servername. error 1053: service did not respond start or control request in timely fashion. in eventlog error logged (7009, service control manager): timeout reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting file replication service connect. i tried debug issue changing debug log entry in "hklm\system\ccs\services\ntfrs\parameters\debug log severity" set 5. in ntfrs logs there's message everytime start service: <dbginitlogtracefile:           3980:  1875: s0: 12:26:31> :s: full pathname c:\windows\system32\ntfrs.exe <migrate:                       3980:  1376: s0: 12:26:31> returning dfsr migration local state: 3. <qhashinsert:                   3980:   639: s5: 12:26:31> qhash insert (000fd750): entry: 000fddc0

hello all, setup: server 2008 r2 hyper-v on it. running 1 virtual machine (sbs 2008). there dedicated space (partition) virtual c drive. space on host virtual c drive running out. have 13 gb left on , vhd set dynamic. virtual machine how ever has plenty of space 48 gb on c drive. if understand correctly though space low on vhd , hits 0 free space virtual machine should not come stop because still space on virtual c drive? kinda low on c drive of host. if gets down 0 or 100mb halt/pause virtual machine or host? physical host has raid 1, 2  232gb hard drives for hosts c drive , partition location of virtual c drive vhd file is. data vhd on seperate raid 5 4 232 gb hdd. how go adding more space raid 1 setup. example want 500gb raid 1. host dell poweredge 2950. thank help.   hi obrick,   the raid 1 os disk not supported extend diskspace via hotplug . so , if want extend raid 1 disk , please refer following step:       first of , avo

i have 300 workstations in environment -mostly windows 7 sp1 , windows 10.  for these workstations, have document redirection configured desktop , documents folders.  this working fine. because of age of server redirected documents lives, move shares different server , update gpo. i attempted last night - robocopied of files users share new server, unshared them old server.  updated gpo go \\oldserver\users \\newserver\users.  replicated dc make sure dcs had updated gpo. i rebooted machines , change didn't seem happen.  i dug registry - under hkcu:\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer -- both shellfolders , usershellfolders -- paths still pointing \\oldserver\users. did gpupdate /force, rebooted again , still had same problem. what missing here?  does document redirection tatoo registry? thanks in advance sb > exist.  think access denied coming fact > trying create it, there.   no, denied due fact acls prevent "something". d

we have 4 win 2003 r2 servers using dfsr.  have 3rd party tool (peerlock) network file locking.  servers configured in full-mesh topology , under normal usage, works perfectly.  occasionally, seem rash of files "disappearing".  getting dumped conflictanddeleted folder, yesterday saw behavior didn't understand. quick background on each site: site a:  60 users, 10mb ethernet connection internet (in us) site b:  20 users, 10mb ethernet connection internet (in us) site c:  20 users, 2mb dsl connection internet (in uk) site d:  5 users, 2mb connection internet (in japan) each site connected via vpn tunnel on internet. yesterday am, had restore 4gb folder tape server in site a.  expected backlog sometime while replicated out each site , in retrospect, should have restored non-replicated share , let users pick out lost. by mid afternoon, had several calls same symptoms , results.  user in 1 site creates new folder , adds new file.  few minutes late, folder remains, file gone ser

i deploying enterprise mode gpo clients ie11 machines can access enterprise mode. however, machines receiving settings. not machines have updated inetres.adml template includes "enterpirse mode." adml template supposed come down central store (we have central store set , settings set in administrative templates section internet explorer)? or local admx/adml files under c:\windows\policydefinitions updated via windows updates? i'm not sure if supposed copy down central store or what. have various gpos have local inetres adm templates added them , wasn't sure if causing issue using central store or not. please let me know. the central store used updating gpmc , replicated other dcs. whoever updates gpo, central store ensures admins using same template don't have distribute templates manually. for clients not processing settings, central store has no bearing on that. have verified gpo has applied using gpresult? else recorded in logs , event log? this art

i setup site-to-site vpn on server 2012 , connects fine @ startup when not joined domain. once join domain through vpn, can connect , join domain fine. when restart server, rras no longer auto starts @ system startup. made sure rras set auto start on system startup services, tried both automatic , automatic (delayed start). still rras not auto start when windows starts. have start manually once logon local account. keeping me being able logon server due fact unable connect logon server because vpn isn't connected due rras not auto starting. ideas on how fix appreciated. can i support please? i have tried use search find solution boy :-) i have nice hyper-v enviroment running dynamic disk max. 80 gb , @ 49 gb. problem have sharepoint tool logs , hardset stop logging when there less 1 gb diskspace. hyper-v apparently not expand disk unless forced so. thereby logging stops. there anyway set autogrow parameter that triggers hyper-v expand the disk when free disk space limit reached?  hi, use fixed vhd instead of dynamic vhd in environment.   Windows Server  >  Hyper-V
