so i'm using wds pxe boot laptops without hdd internal network. question when use license key make operating system valid, happen when go deploy said operating system laptops. message pop saying operating system counterfeit or fine. operating system plan on using windows xp. any appreciated windows xp not longer ms supported of april 1, 2014.   it benefit deployment use win7 or win8 , deploy kms server. windows xp not support installing same key on every system.  i'm pretty sure it's violation of license agreement too. if find post helpful (or answer), please mark appropriately. chris ream Windows Server  >  Setup Deployment

hi all, i have notice alot of administrators trying deal same issue having ( turning proxy off when no domain available) when our laptop users login (windows xp sp3)  to our domain set proxy, ( not through group policy through kix scripts - dont ask why !!) when laptop user goes home logon laptop using cached credentials because there no domain available...but have noticed when logon using cached credentials , registry has proxyenable set 0, turning off proxy... great since users can access internet @ home without having change proxy settings themselves... however, question is, setting regkey proxy enable 0, there microsoft update deal with this issue and sets reg key off when no domain available ? we have no logoff script running in either gpo or kix don't know how occuring.. it sort issue of having write logoff script turn off proxy i'd know did microsoft deal releasing update ? or local policy set proxyenable 0 ? hi,   you may run process monitor or regis

in our company use several template add-ins contain macro's 1 user error 'word cannot open document template'. they listed in add-ins tab in word @ moment not.   the problems started had the  'word cannot open document template' error , 'options' button greyed out in office applications reset (created new one)  the users profile , greyed out options problem fixed not template error.   i've deleted templates , allowed new ones downloaded machine still had same issue. have other machines using office 2010 and xp sp3 haven't had issues. any ideas? a reinstall of office has fixed issue Microsoft Office  >  Word IT Pro Discussions

we have large (200+) set of shares to map various users based on group membership via powershell login script.  familiar arguments using gpp item level targeting modern method of mapping shares, , other shares, isn't viable option in case (for reasons won't go into).  the script works fine with the (new-object -com wscript.network ).mapnetworkdrive( $drive , $path, $true) method of mapping, remove persistent flag (as best practice not script persistent drives).  if manually run command without $true on end (non-persistent), drive appears , works in windows gui , not persistent across log off/on.  however, in login script, while command successful (based on error checking), drive not available in gui.  does have suggestions why be? we have number of xp system still, limited powershell v2 although curious if possible using improved "new-psdrive" in posh v3 thread middle-ground between mapping share available outside posh session , doesn't remain

i experiencing unusual dns failure.  have 2 separate networks both utilizing windows 2008 servers.  networks separate point use different routers.  both routers connected same t1 unique ip addresses.  worked fine until 30 days ago.  sporadically pcs (on network only) can not connect internet sites.  there not appear issue internal name resolution.  no 1 has had problem logins, shares, etc.  failed machine can reach internet after few attempts.  restarting machine restore internet access.  more manipulation required restore access once has been restored machine continues function.  once machine fails, ping can not resolve name if ip address know can pinged and the browser display site.  network consists of xp sp3 clients (about 50) current patches.  while 1 machine failing others work fine.  there 2 windows 2008 domain controllers proving dns service network.  taking 1 server @ time out of service had no effect. dns server test completes every time.  router has been replaced. very str

estimados, buenos días tengo la siguiente situación: * en un ambiente de pruebas existía una bd con nombre "bd_1" por decir algo. * un día solcitaron montar el respaldo del ambiente productivo de ésta bd pero obviamente con otro nombre "bd_1", esto no fue realizado y el nombre que dejaron fué el mismo es decir "bd_1". * ¿existe alguna manera de comprobar que la anterior bd que estaba siendo utilizada en el ambiente de pruebas fue eliminada? lo que pasa es que estoy seguro que existia la bd con el mismo nombre en el servidor de pruebas pero al momento de actualizar la reemplazaron totalmente eliminando sus archivos de data y log, por mas vueltas que le doy al asunto no encuentro la manera de comprobar esto de manera visual, ustedes sabran que ante un caso se deben presentar todas las pruebas posibles. lo consulto por que en los registros de sistemas no me aparece información acerca del destachamiento de la bd en cuestión, sólo tengo el log de ej
