how can make nlb address default address outbound packets sent ? the case this. i made nlb of 2 nodes. both nodes connected external switch ( before router , , pcs connected can have internet ip address ).  , external switch connected dmz port. due have few internet ip addresses , set 2 servers dmz addresses ( 192.168.254.* ), , set address nlb internet address.  , added 2 gateway addresses on nic, first internal ip, , second external ip. , seems ok moment  , sometime later , internet users cannot visit applications on servers successfully. e.g. internet user can  telnet <nlb external ip address> 25   connected smtp port, no welcome msg shows up. think it's because half connected state.   internet users can connect nlb servers , servers don't know gateway go, windows choose right 1 ( external ip gateway ) , othertimes windows choose internal gateway. when windows choose wrong gateway, servers respond internet user's request  through internal gate

i'm using virtualbox 4.3.28 run vm vhd of  windows 10 enterprise insider preview 10074. when run vm looks good. on host laptop i'm running cisco  anyconnect v3.1 connect work's intranet. set windows 10 vm's network can access network.  when use ie11 i'm able access company's intranet , behaving expected. however, when tried using spartan edge "hmm, can't reach page". spartan edge able open secure urls of other websites google, microsoft, etc. can't reach ips coming cisco vpn.  is known problem? thanks, -zeke i'm not seeing of these issues build 10130! it's bad msdn download site doesn't have version. downloaded  windows10_insiderpreview_x32_en-us_10130.iso and works expected! i'm glad it's fixed. hi, have windows server 2003 r2 ent server running c: drive , dynamic disk raid 1 z: drive. z: drive mirrors 2 identical 1tb drives (same manufacturer, model number, , size - hds721010kla330). amongst other things, z: drive holds home directories. 1tb drives have been installed year ago. lately i've been starting slow logins , when looking @ management console noticed few things: the dynamic z: drive resynching only 1 of disks of dynamic drive showing errors (a small yellow warning sign , "(errors)" next drive status even when resynch done, disk 1 still showing errors. , don't know why resynching triggered again (haven't tested when) you can see screen capture of disk management here: http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/4301/diskmanagement.jpg so questions are: is there way more details errors windows reporting? is faulty drive or possibly other issue? what's best way solve this? don't want buy new drive find out troubles pop again

hi all, i have 2 sites, 2 dc each. due problems, servers on site 2 not replicate site 1 long time. fix problem, demoted dc on site 2 , promoted again. before promoting, did metadata cleanup. let dc1, dc2 dcs in site 1, , dc3,dc4 dcs in site 2. now, dc1 can replicate dc2, , dc2 can replicate dc1 (same-site) also dc3 can replicate dc4, , dc4 dc3 (still same site) the inter-site replication problematic part. strange thing dcs site 1 can replicate dcs in site 2, dcs site 2 can replicate dcs site 1. before these problem arose, there no replication issues, should not network-related problem network settings have not been changed. the error when try replicate in ad sites , services is: " the name context in process of being removed or not replicated specified server". in event log of dcs of site 1, event 1925 states 1722 rpc not available error message. relised in servers in site 1 dns srv entries servers in site 2 missing. tried restarting netlogon service, srv

hi, i've searched forums, technet library, google, bing, without success. please can clarify following me: i'm looking way configure rdp session host settings (redirection restrictions, limit color depth, etc.) stand-alone (non-domain-member/workgroup machine) server 2012 in "admin mode". pretty same in windows 2008 (r2) using host configuration snap-in. i understand host configuration snap-in gone in 2012 (for whatever reason?!) , installing rds session host role requires me make machine member of a domain configure settings using server manager (for whatever reason?!). i'm not entirely sure if need cal run rds session host on windows server @ least it seems change settings using gpedit.msc in computer\windows components\remote desktop services\remote desktop session host\... hi there, just wanted share experience manual p2v migration. vm became ressource hungry , decided move off esx 5 cluster dedicated physical machine. v2p virtual machine physical server ibm x3650 m4 , switch bios uefi boot environment task: v2p migrate vmware virtual machine ibm x3650 m4 serveraid 5110e raid controller or other lsi raid controller without 3rd party tools. should work other raid controllers or servers sure pick right drivers then. task: vm's boot environment/virtual bios bios, not uefi (as per default vmware setting). physical server running in uefi mode. challenge: after restore server won't boot or bsod (7b), because raid drivers missing. after restore vm won't boot because boot environment has changed bios uefi preparations: existing physical server of same type , same raid controller , same os nice troubleshooting , checking registry. existing dhcp server make networking things easier. connect new physical server x3650

i have 2  hyper-v nodes joined domain, default domain group policy applied (so don't see regarding dns or hosts). i've tried add entry hosts file on both nodes when try ping hostname fails.  i've come across similar issue on windows 8 forums seems be related windows defender isn't running on these server.  been while since i've needed use hosts file override dns, have missed something? i under impression windows used order.  local cache (which i've flushed) --> hosts --> dns --> wins --> lmhosts just fyi, can't replicate issue. when make hosts entry resolves ip specified. i have multiple word files i'd pull 1 mast word file.  files reside in sharepoint.  i've used master / subdocument feature in previous versions of word not see here.  i'm trying inserting linked text or inserting file linked original. why trying this?  project wind huge amount of documentation.  in past when i've created big word files, become corrupt.  making smaller files using master / sub document feature in past, i've been able create large documents while avoiding them becoming corrupt. in addition creating smaller files allows editing / revisions without having go through large document needs edited.   i tried linking other word files inserting object, 1st page of file appears. i tried inserting text , linking original file, , absolutley nothing happens.   and finally, when insert text file, changes font , messes margins , tables.  files ariel font, yet inserted text become verdun. any advice? hi, i suggest posting thread in the sharep

  i'm facing problem using ipv6. i'm trying connect vista(ipv6) win2008(ipv6) using ipv6 network.
