hi,
from description, first of all, please understand since didn’t choose option “redirect folder local user profile location when policy removed” before trying stop folder redirection, not find in desktop of clients when folder redirection policy removed. in order stop folder redirection correctly, suggest refer following article.
how stop folder redirection in windows server 2003 , in windows 2000 server
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888203
secondly, have re-enabled folder redirection policy , chose option “redirect folder local user profile location when policy removed” , files of clients’ desktop disappeared again after rebooting server. @ time, suggest check shared folder redirected folders to, see if files stored normally. check if problematic users , computers have received folder redirection policy right settings configured correctly. please collect following information see if policy have been applied correctly.
gpmc.log
==================
a. on domain controller, click start ->run, type gpmc.msc, load gpmc console.
b. right click on "group policy result" , choose wizard generate report problematic computer , user account (please place appropriately). (choose computer , select proper user in wizard)
c. right click the resulting group policy result , click "save report…" => save report save report html file.
in addition, here 2 similar threads reference, hope helps.
