Trying to combine Word 2007 Files residing in SharePoint into a Master Doc


i have multiple word files i'd pull 1 mast word file.  files reside in sharepoint.  i've used master / subdocument feature in previous versions of word not see here.  i'm trying inserting linked text or inserting file linked original.

why trying this?  project wind huge amount of documentation.  in past when i've created big word files, become corrupt.  making smaller files using master / sub document feature in past, i've been able create large documents while avoiding them becoming corrupt.

in addition creating smaller files allows editing / revisions without having go through large document needs edited.

 

i tried linking other word files inserting object, 1st page of file appears.

i tried inserting text , linking original file, , absolutley nothing happens.

 

and finally, when insert text file, changes font , messes margins , tables.  files ariel font, yet inserted text become verdun.

any advice?
