Time to move VM from one cluster to another
i moved vm 1 cluster last night. started @ 11:30pm , didnt finish until 9:30am. there 2 vhd files total of 260 gb of storage. backend on both of these clusters 2 equilogic iscsi san's jumbo frames turned on , working on own 1gbps iscsi subnet.
i suprised took long move vm. can tell me if sounds normal amount of time move data? if not idea how determine why took long?

can network live/quick migration took place on?
have @
hyper-v: live migration network configuration guide - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff428137(ws.10).aspx, may need configure qos policy shape traffic.
also make sure correct network selected migration capabilities - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd446679(ws.10).aspx
in particular:
configure cluster networks live migration
cluster networks automatically configured live migration. can use failover cluster manager perform procedure.
to configure cluster network live migration
1.
in failover cluster manager snap-in, if cluster want configure not displayed, in console tree, right-click failover cluster manager, click manage cluster, , select or specify cluster want.
2.
expand services , applications.
3.
in console tree (on left), select clustered virtual machine want configure network live migration.
4.
right-click virtual machine resource displayed in center pane (not on left), , click properties.
5.
click network live migration tab, , select 1 or more cluster networks use live migration. use buttons on right move cluster networks or down ensure private cluster network preferred. default preference order follows: networks have no default gateway should located first; networks used cluster shared volumes , cluster traffic should located last.
live migration attempted in order of networks specified in list of cluster networks. if connection destination node using first network not successful, next network in list used until complete list exhausted, or there successful connection destination node using 1 of networks.
