Set mandatory profile or something else on shared laptop?

i'd set group of laptops, domain user can log in , edit profile , save files, inside profile temporarily, @ log off or reboot, preset profile reload , clean changes , files.

i have tried mandatory profiles , can work on local user accounts, not domain accounts.

i have copied mandatory profile (in folder called prof1) working locally share , given ntfs , share permissions folder , set gpo in ou says "users logging onto computer should use roaming profile path: \\dc1\profs\prof1

the setting ignored , local default profile still used when domain user logs in. can't tell problem since there no errors shown.  it doesn't work. know group policy containing this setting being applied because other settings in gpo in effect.

one piece of information in gpo that's confusing statement in details says "it recommended @ %username% in path give each user different profile directory."

i don't think want since don't want permanently save of user's data , looks adding create folders inside existing profile folder if set path to:  \\dc1\profs\prof1\%username%

is there better option want?  others saying should use gpos without mandatory profiles, don't see gpo setting lets users make changes temporarily.

i looking through various user settings , can't find policy lets users work in profile , have saved data , changes in profile wiped away after log off or reboot.

we need done through gpos settings take effect when laptops in ou these policies.  we don't want these settings configured local settings requiring unique system image these  laptops.

are mandatory roaming profiles way domain users?

hi,

the group policy “prevent roaming profile changes propagating server” not remove of profile data workstation, prevent changes transferring file server. since mandatory profile, changes removed workstation after logoff.
