Lock Printer properties using GPO

hello friends,

is possible lock printer properties using gpo (w2k8)?

i have problem printer options changing every time .for example want duplex default enabled on printer not working.

thanks help

hi,

no not possible far know.

i think better focus on issue itself. 1 thing keep in mind how configured depends on printer driver. when setting printer defaults on printserver, these settings not 'pushed' clients. instead used defaults when clients connect printerqueue. user free change settings after initial connection.

a possible method configure logon script deletes , reconnects printers. way, printers have 'fresh' settings each time user logs on.

some manufacturers offer tools lock features in driver, clients installing print server no longer have ability change settings (like duplex). such functionality should refer manufacturer of specific device.
