Delete DFSR replication group without deleting DFS namespace folder and targets

i have several dfs implementations based on ws08.  1 of dfs folders contains 3 targets corresponding replication group.  i deleted 2 of targets selecting option delete replication group member.  process worked fine.  had 1 desired target had replication group 1 member.  wanted state similar when first create dfs group 1 target , no replication group has been created.

when deleted last replication group member deleted dfsr replication group.  fine , desired, deleted dfs group , target.  not wanted.

how can i safely walk dfs folder multiple targets , replication single target without replication?  and, of course, wrap deleting dfsr related folders/files 1 target folder.

thank you, bill

hi bill,

i'm afraid that's design. since meaning of dfs replication to enable efficiently replicate folders  across multiple servers , sites. , detail way add multiple dfs target achieve goal. in scenario, if add multiple targets dfs folder, automatically create dfs replication group sync.

best regards,

mary
