KMS Server License - redeem

windows 2012 kms server.  question simple …

i installed windows 2008r2 in production , kms activated it.  after 5 months of use decommission windows 2008r2 server.  now how redeem or kms releases license key server can use later?  where information kept on kms server?  hope question clear?

when kmsclient becomes activated contacting kmshost, kmsclient "activation status" becomes "licensed", , begins countdown 180days 0days.
periodically kmsclient re-contact kmshost , renew activation status, resets countdown 180days again.
if kmsclient cannot contact kmshost 180days, "activation status" of kmsclient becomes "unlicensed".

the kmshost not keep database of kmsclients @ all, not keep record of license keys assigned kmsclients, nor keep record of activations issued/released. kmshost keeps "count" (total) only.

the kmshost write own eventlogs, each time kmsclient contacts kmshost, difficult use record-keeping purposes.

when create kmsclient, of type, must keep own records, ensure remain compliant licensing agreement. if decommission kmsclient, must keep own records of that.
