Windows 2008 R2 - RDP session - Clipboard/Copy/Paste function stripping files during transfer....

hello all,

im working on project have built , prepare 3 vm's hosting 2008r2 server on group of server appliances configured san.

one of issues have has put stop proceedings rdp sessions vm's windowsxp pro laptop stripping files during file transfer.

the summary follows: can access vm's through rdp or vmware client console session. in console session have no ability stranfer software installation, additionally dell poweredge hardware im working doesnt register usb flash storage devices when plugged in. leaves rdp connection transfer necessary software installation server side.

i have succesfully managed transfer various small files in native format including adobex.exe (pdf reader) server side, install successfully.

trying transfer zipped or unpacked variants of 2.05gb sized software installation iso of piece of software required hosted on servers not copying files like. @ first didn't notice file size of folder , underlying structure had been reduced when running software installation package number of pre-requisite software steps unavailable core software , services installed ok. once discovered installation missed number of required steps had uninstall , figure out had gone wrong.

i tried transfer the folder again on completion 2.05gb file had been reduced 500mb! sub-folders , files have been stripped during process. tried zipped iso version , also reduced overall file size during transfer.

renaming file extensions (.exe .txt, etc) didnt make difference. firewall has been disabled during process remove equation. clipboard in rdp session host manager enabled , im using local admin account log in rdp session. servers not going part of ad/domain therefore each hosting appliance being set standalone , part of workgroup, no special security policy and/group permissions have been applied default, dont think factors in, wrong.

any ideas why happening? i'm not aware there file size limit when using clipboard, cause perhaps?

any appreciated.
