Bit of a strange issue remoting(VIA RDP) to a Windows 2008 Enterprise 64bit server - Help please.

hi there.  have bit of strange problem newly installed 2008 server regarding remote connections it.  server setup standard remote connectivity(eg not full term server) , connect via dedicated remote server @ our main office(as via remote vpn tokens when out , about.)  server located @ different office across vpn.  have issue couple of user's cannot connect - point asks them username , password(on actual server) won't accept username/password details.  i'm rather baffled connecting through our dedicated remote server(which have tried them general admin account there own accounts) server , trying logon using administrator account!  it's if 'local pc' issue, fact remoting onto remote server , onto 2008 server find difficult believe.  or advise mucha appreciated - in advance, midly confused mike! :)
