HyperV PVLAN question

hi all,

here my question:

i configure pvlans on vms powershell cmdlets set-vmnetworkadaptervlan, per posts (http://www.cdolar.com/2012/12/network-isolation-using-pvlans-in-hyperv-3-0/#more-45) or (http://hikmatkanaan.wordpress.com/2012/11/10/configuring-windows-2012-private-vlan-pvlan/).

i have primary vlan routable on physical network.

1. i configure vm isolated vlan.
2. i configure a vm with community vlan.
3. i configure vm with promiscuous vlan.

all of configuration works expected inside hyperv. but cant ping of external subnets (that not in hyperv) of vm machines have pvlan enabled except vm promiscuous mode.

is design? did i miss-configure something. didnt see anywhere need configuration physical routers , switches pvlan work external networks.

hi,

according definition of port virtual local area network (pvlan) , trunk mode feature, pvlan should has ability communicate external network:

pvlan can used create environment vms may interact internet , not have visibility other vms’ network traffic.

while, when using hyper-v vlan feature, physical switches must configured appropriate vlan ids. may check physical switch configuration.
