Moving AD DC and Exchange server to new machine

good day,

in our company have ad dc installed on windws server 2008 enterprise 64bit in addition dns , dhcp , exchange server 2007.

now bought licensed windows server 2008 r2 standard 64bit and need identical previous 1 , need replace old 1 new one.

i tried follwoing :

1 - installed windows server 2008 r2 standard on new machine , used dcpromo add sever domain additional dc.

2 - installed exchange server 2007 sp3

3 - used ntdsutil.exe move 5 roles

4 - move 1 mailbox test.

everything worked fine till disconnected main dc , exchnage server stopped , , when i tried login using new user account  message showed " ....no login servers available ..."

i dont know problem ! , although moved 5 roles new dc still needs main dc up.

i also installed dhcp , clinet not getting domain name "connection-specific dns suffix"

regardless recommendations not installing exchange on dc , moving in wrong direction ? recommend better solution ?

thanx in advance

regards.

hello,

remove internet router ip address x.x.x.4 from nic dns servers, run ipconfig /flushdns , ipconfig /registerdns , restart netlogon service or reboot dcs.

your name resolution sent internet no server can resolve internal names , result in problems.

for internet access configure forwarders under dns server properties in dns server management console, either router ip address or better isps dns server.
