Word 2013 Slow to load doc w/lots of checkboxes

hi all,

i have document template has few hundred check boxes in (he kind developer tab). converted word 2013 office 2007 , ever since then, template has been slow load, more minute (yes, clocked it). once loaded, fine, we're wondering if checkboxes causing delay.

if case, there better way make check boxes people can check off in document? or people have other suggestions?

i have disabled other add-ins , using local version of word, not cloud version. document on network drive , not have problem other documents.

thanks thoughts might have.

the first thing check template listed in templates , add-ins dialog box affected document. if template doesn't exist, because has been renamed and/or located on inaccessible network drive, may explain delay. can change attached template normal.dotm.

to display templates , add-ins dialog box in word 2007 , later: on developer tab, click document template.
