custom windows service

hello all,

i have rather odd question. company, producing software our client having problems 1 services running on windows server 2003. specificaly, service responsible parsing data excel sql. problem is, service cannot connect sql server after longer period of inactiviti altrough windows service manager shows, service running. telneting sql server works without problem @ time. after service restarted, normal operations continue without problem.

so question is: service when nothing? , mean service. not that, describing.

i belive running windows service listens request , when requst comes service should handle request and whatever service designed do. please correct me if i'm wrong.

a service doesn't have other respond service control manager (scm) scm knows it's responsive. service respond requests come scm such stop, start, pause, etc, though can define of designed respond to.

technically, write service did nothing @ other than wait around doing nothing and responding scm. there's no "requirements" service has fulfill (other scm interaction).

getting service in particular, because being written contracted company, you'd best them involved in troubleshooting process.

Failed to query the results of bpa xpath

0x300000d errors in Microsoft Remote Desktop client

we use rd connect home users office. @ server side remote desktop gateway configured on 2008r2 server. experience following:   for years worked fine, starting last year users apple macbook experienced connection errors after new version of microsoft remote desktop in app store , automatic update. after couple of weeks error disappaered when new updates released. since 6 8 weeks problem again. because don’t have macbook cannot reproduce problem.   starting couple of weeks samsung s6 experiencing problems, here version 8.1.37.135 installed, error displayed is: can’t connect tot remote pc because remote desktop gateway server temporaraily unavailable. try connecting later or contact network administrator assistance. error code  0x300000d   because has worked fine years expect issues on client can configuration error on gateway server.   who pin point real cause?   however, testing other rd gateway server works ok settings identically....
