Demote DC while keeping as DHCP & CA

my question is: demoting 2003 server while leaving dhcp , ca cause problems? can transfer other physical dc, if don't have right can focus on project requiring our domain level raised.

ok, here scenario:

3 domain controllers, 1 virtual , 2 physical:

dc1: 2008 r2, virtual, has fsmo roles, global catalog, certificate authority, in production 2 years

dc2: 2003 sp1, physical, dhcp, certificate authority, in production since creation of time

dc3: 2008 r2, physical, in production 6 months

for reasons need raise our domain level 2008, need demote 2003 dc.

i know member server can ca , dhcp, want make sure demotion process won't break things, other having authorize after demotion.

to experience cannot demote dc (windows 2003) while has ca role. have backup ca, , restore after demote (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298138/en-us)
