Group Policy limit students to 1 login instance at a time.

is there policy restricts users 1 login instance @ time?  want students able login 1 machine.  trying prevent them logging 6 machines @ time when friends not have account.

hi,

there no build-in feature limit number of logins of users many machines in active directory domain. tool limitlogin stores logged-on information in custom ad partition via microsoft iis hosted web service, client component, , logon , logoff script. run tool, iis must installed along asp.net. meanwhile, limitlogin officially supports windows 2000 professional service pack 4 , later, windows 2000 server service pack 4 , later, windows xp professional service pack 1 , later, , windows server 2003. have heard others, limitlogin can run on windows server 2008, errors may appear.

there ways allow users log onto machines can limit can log onto workaround. example:

1. go ad users , computers, find user want restrict, right click , choose properties, click account tab, choose “log on to”. select “this user can log on to:” “the following computers”, add computers want.

2. use group policy restrict domain users log on computers

computer configuration\windows settings\security settings\local policies\user rights assignment

deny logon locally

thanks.

nina
