Choose which server applies the group policies.

hi,

i wish decide server applies group policies certain pcs.

we college two separate physical sites. our larger main site has pdc , site has les 10 connection it. our other satellite site has a backup dc adsl connection (approx 10mbps download/1.5mbps upload). pdc site replicates on backup dc our satellite site. e.g. ad, gpos, dfs etc..

i want pcs @ our satellite site take gpos local server @ site , not pdc @ our main site. reason being, because when user logs on first time @ the satellite site, not pull gpos down server. 

i have done 'gpresult /r' in cmd line on 1 of pcs , know being taken pcd (it says being applied lying!). have upgraded new pcs @ the satellite site (as older pcs struggled most) , has sort of solved problem. however, is probably because of upload speed @ the satellite site - adsl line.

so it possible to tell pcs @ the satellite site take gpos replicated backup dc @ site??

run dssite.msc , configure ip subnets , sites representing

network configuration. then, move backup dc

"default-first-site" correct location.
