HP Proliant ML350 G5 with WS2012 and HyperV

i installed ws2012 on ml350 g5, , installed hyperv role.

the hypervisor , services start , there no event log errors.

when configure vm, sets properly. however, when start vm, message hypervisor service not started (it is! or looks is). information indicates processor dep not enabled (it is, because hyperv not install without enabled).

any other ideas? or can tell me if system not supported hyperv? used run vmware esxi. , have run hyperv (from 2008r2) on this.

server specs:

  • xeon 5130
  • 12gb ram
  • e200 raid controller 256mb cache + battery
  • 6 x 146gb 10k sas (raid5)

hi,

hardware requirements hyper-v in windows server 2012:

  • hardware-assisted virtualization. available in processors include virtualization option—specifically processors intel virtualization technology (intel vt) or amd virtualization (amd-v) technology.
  • hardware-enforced data execution prevention (dep) must available , enabled. specifically, must enable intel xd bit (execute disable bit) or amd nx bit (no execute bit).

> information indicates processor dep not enabled

data execution prevention (dep) set of hardware , software technologies perform additional checks on memory protect against malicious code exploits.

on intel processors dep called execute disable (xd), feature must enabled support hyper-v feature. check in system bios, , if hp has new released firmware, update firmware.
