How can I change a clustered disk Volume Id

hi,

prior clustering have been rapid provisioning virtual machines using san disk cloning tools.

as disks cloned same master disk, volumes on disk will share same volumeid. wasn't problem windows automatically detect duplicate disk , leave in offline. when disk brought online volumeid changed automatically.

however cluster, clashing volume might owned node in cluster , windows not detect duplicate volumeid.

the duplicate picked however, when try import disk cluster , disk remain in "failed" state.

the way fix locate node owns volume identical volume id , bring online on node prior importing disk cluster. force volumeid change.

i have tried change win32_volume deviceid property in powershell it's read only.

how can change volumeid using powershell. there app available mark russinovich change volumeid need disk have drive letter , don't mount volumes

thanks

daniel

in dataontap powershell toolkit v1.5, added cmdlets change signature on clone.  they're get-nalunsignature , set-nalunsignature.  work both mbr , gpt disks.
