not equipment, remember windows server 2008 failover clustering requires storage compliant scsi-3 (spc3-compliant) persistent reservations.  i'd recommend check hp representative , verify if san compliant.  older san models vendors may able updated using firmware updates.

multipath software likewise needs meet microsoft mpio standard.  each of these items (and many, many more) validated in validate a cluster wizard.  short of doing legwork research this, if equipment sitting around doing nothing, wouldn't hurt attempt cluster build , run validate see results are...if nothing else, validate report provides fantastic information can use troubleshoot , diagnose existing issues.
