Virtual Machine use More host resource of processor?

hi
have vm on hyper-v on 2008r2.
have in host server 2 quad core
can set onli 4 virtual processor virtual machine.
sett 100% of virtual machine reserve buot can't set 100% of total system resources, it's block 25% why?
virtual machine stai operational @ 70/80% of virtual cpù host use 0/10% of processor
why?
can edit it? need more processor resource on virtual mahcine

bye

this has been discussed in previous threads in great detail.

the summary - number of vcpus can assign vm dependant upon os in the vm.

a single vm cannot have more 4 vcpus (at time - may change in future)

2 quad core cpus = 8 logical procesosrs = 64 virtual processors.

setting reserve affects how vm plays in pool - gives vm processing tiome priority on other vms.

in end - high cpu within vm can caused many issues - common of actual applicaitons running within vm.
it of note many experienced folks have noted vm 1vcpu might perform better application 2 vcpu or 4 vcpus.

and bit of research might show real problem not processor, other constraint, oyu noting processor first.
