AutenTec Fingerprint reader stopped working

have been using fingerprint reader sign in overtime found out no longer working. have tried reinstalling using latest drivers still found out not working, gone extent of uninstalling hp protect tools , install version 4.0 , can't see changes. had system recovery still stuck on roads...how can fingerprit working back. use hp2710p system autentec fingerprint reader on vista businness
