what are the expected Negative effect of using "Switch Independent – Address Hash" instead of "Switch Independent – Hyper-v port" on the hyper-v VMs

i test configure  network teaming on hyper-v host 2012 r2

1. using switch independent – address hash ,active /active mode   gain heavy outbound ,
2. but afraid negative effect on virtual machines connectivity , live migration   , so
3. what expected negative effect of using "switch independent – address hash"  instead of "switch independent – hyper-v port" on hyper-v vms

 switch independent configuration / address hash distribution

this configuration distribute load through use of selected level of address hashing.  it defaults using tcp ports , ip addresses seed hash function.

because given ip address can associated single mac address routing purposes, mode receives inbound traffic on 1 team member (the primary member).  this means inbound traffic cannot exceed bandwidth of 1 team member no matter how getting sent.

this mode best used for:

1. active/standby mode teams 2 team members; and
2. teaming in vm.

• address hashing. algorithm creates hash based on address components of packet , assigns packets have hash value 1 of available adapters. mechanism alone sufficient create reasonable balance across available adapters.

the tcp ports hash creates granular distribution of traffic streams resulting in smaller streams can independently moved between members. however, it cannot used traffic not tcp or udp-based or tcp , udp ports hidden stack, such ipsec-protected traffic. in these cases, hash automatically falls ip address hash or, if traffic not ip traffic, mac address hash.

powershell commands can switch team between load distribution modes

in server 2012r2 , switch independent/dynamic , should provide better performance.
