1.  i made dhcp reservation printer or computer.   dns record disappears after day.  what needs done dns records reflect dhcp assignments?

2.  every day, have couple of ip collisions.  what can done prevent this?

thanks in advance

hi rgelfand,

check configurations in reservations' properties> dns: if have checked "discard , ptr records when lease deleted", , configured use dhcp server register dns records these clients, records deleted in dns zone when lease expired.

since may not want reservations ip addresses printers or computers deleted in dns zone, we may manually add these records in dns zone, make these records static records, these records not deleted, even dns scavenging not delete static records.

for dhcp clients, before dhcp server lease ip address clients, check if there ip conflict. in dhcp scope, need exclusions reservation ip addresses , static ip addresses in network.

best regards,

anne
