Migrating R1 to R2

our current enviroment has single 2008 r1 ts running remote apps.  going adding 2 more ts servers , setting them in farm.  new r2 features.  able leave current server @ it's r1 state while adding 2 new r2 servers?   can exisit in farm?  if not, there inplace upgrade move r1 r2?

r1 , r2 servers can co-exist in server farm, might result inconsisent feature availability end users connecting farm. upgrade, can use windows server upgrade feature upgrade server keeping settings intact.

Failed to query the results of bpa xpath

RDS 2012 r2 collections show black screen and then close

greetings,   have deployed 2 server 2012 r2 rds session collections (each 2 rdsh servers, , both going through same gateway/broker server), , during testing had no issues, rolled production, our users have been experiencing black screens when attempting log in, , remote desktop window closes (no actual login performed).   seems happen intermittently, , on both collections @ different times.  thought had solved disabling use of udp in rdp clients, wasn't permanent fix.   looking @ event log of 1 of affected servers, there seems event id 36 generated @ every logon attempt following message: an error occurred when transitioning csrconnected in response evcsrinitialized.
