Access VPN from virtual machine

i have small domain dc/dns server , couple of connected clients. dc virtual machine on server running 2012 r2 hyper-v. hyper-v server has 4 nic. far have used 2. nic 1 has fixed ip , nic 2 has dynamic ip.

in addition have couple of virtual machines aren't part of domain. have 2 virtual switches 1 each nic.

on 1 virtual machine connect vpn, appears never connect though vpn client suggest connected. when run ping command against 1 of machines on remote network, hostname resolves external ip. however, when same thing physical machine not on domain hostname resolves internal ip.

i don't understand happens when trying connect virtual machine, hitting domain firewall on way out since nic on 2012 virtual server part of domain?

thanks,

chris

>>however, when same thing physical machine not on domain hostname resolves internal ip.

leo
