Remove orphaned VM from cluster

hi all,

after upgrading our hyper-v cluster windows server 2012 r2 windows server 2016, had storage issues. these issues have been resolved, have 1 vm on our cluster got orphaned somehow. status of vm remains 'pending', while there 2 virtual machine resources status 'off'. trying delete these resources ends error message: "the cluster object in process of being deleted".

i have copied vm files stand-alone host, vm run there. have deleted vm files, hoping cluster resources should fail, remove them. i have tried restore vm backup, hoping cluster resources registered properly, didn't happen. cannot vm.

it's not thing mess registry on hyper-v nodes, there way remove vm , clean cluster?

thanks...

hi,

thanks reply, have read both articles. first 1 forced removal of vm hyper-v manager, vm not registered on hyper-v server in our cluster. shows in failover cluster manager.

the powershell command in second article same, that's not applicable either.

leo.
