PXE gets IP Address, Environment doesn't.
hi,
running wds on server 2008 r2 box (internal network, not on lan). i've imaged several x86 architecture laptops system without issue.
i have couple dell t3500s (x64) had captured image fine, , trying image onto t3500 (x64). it boots network card fine, gets dhcp address wds box's dhcp server, after boot environment loads, fails address dhcp, have no option choose image, etc. in boot image that's causing issue? didn't seem problem capture (different image, granted, both same architecture).
anything can pass way great, thanks!
jay
what error message, if any?
besides:
1.have tried "wpeutils initializenetwork" ? when windows stopped loading (up whatever stage successfull go ahead), press shift+f10, in command prompt first type ipconfig , check whether have've received ip or no.
if not, type above command (wpeutil or wprutils, don't remember well) , again try ipconfig later on.
2. check dhcp pool see if there more ips assign.
3. check see whether dhcp parameters good. device (like linksys router or whatever) dhcp , assigns dns while dns should domain controller. of course not affect file-transfer phase of setup affect later configurations domain join, answer file follow , etc.
4. shift+f10 thing , try pinging wds.
