Old Domain Controler
i have existing domain presently has windows 2003 r2 domain controller. have added windows 2008 standard server want make pdc. when @ forest (ad users & computers) shows old domain controller 2k server dead cant demote. ran dcdiag , here shows;

one, can delete old server? via users & computers. when tried said may cause problems domain stopped.
two, failures in above report effect transfer of existing pdc role windows 2008r2 server?

thanks posting.
i have recommended execute ntdsutil command , see old server object is present or not.if present should removed.
