Windows 2008 Patch Scripting & UAC
i in network environment need use vbscript server patching. have scripts set work have great automation , work fine on 200+ windows 2003 servers. going migrating windows 2008, , i've been hitting brick wall scripting that.
the script use runs scheduled task under system account. when tries launch patch, uac prompts. in environment, can't turn uac off. also, can't use wsus, gpo's or sms. have tried make script creates scheduled tasks execute scripts directly. again, tries execute, prompts. have tried using principal.runlevel =1, doesn't seem help.
whether direct in vbscript, script-generated scheduled task, or however:
is there way execute windows 2008 patch using automation, without interrupting pop-ups or prompts, using tools (vbscripts, tasks, etc.) found in windows 2008?
thanks!
