Access SQL data base from Wan , not located on the same Lan

i need solution small remote group of  users on same lan( windows 2008 r2 dc) , accessed sql database via lunching sql client app installed on local windows 7/8 pro pc., been moved other building , lost (do have access local lan more) via wan.

ts server available based on windows 2008 old windows 2003 ts licenses)

how can allow access ?

i know "citrix publish app" access perfect, citrix option old , not updated.

is windows 2008 rdp option , not sql 2008 server desktop, "like publish app"

accessing internal remote desktop resources requires rd gateway, , public dns record must registered.

since users accessing applications only, may configure rd web access role, can installed on rd gateway server, publish intended application remoteapp program.

we can’t use windows server 2003 rds cals access windows server 2008 ts server, please contact microsoft clearing house appropriate rds cals.

Failed to query the results of bpa xpath

0x300000d errors in Microsoft Remote Desktop client

we use rd connect home users office. @ server side remote desktop gateway configured on 2008r2 server. experience following:   for years worked fine, starting last year users apple macbook experienced connection errors after new version of microsoft remote desktop in app store , automatic update. after couple of weeks error disappaered when new updates released. since 6 8 weeks problem again. because don’t have macbook cannot reproduce problem.   starting couple of weeks samsung s6 experiencing problems, here version 8.1.37.135 installed, error displayed is: can’t connect tot remote pc because remote desktop gateway server temporaraily unavailable. try connecting later or contact network administrator assistance. error code  0x300000d   because has worked fine years expect issues on client can configuration error on gateway server.   who pin point real cause?   however, testing other rd gateway server works ok settings identically....
