hi rusty,

the symptom seeing indication there network problem.  below suggestions resolving issue:

1. please install updates server recommended manufacturer.  example nic firmware, bios, nic drivers, chipset drivers, etc.  manufacturer has automated utility scan system , apply applicable updates.  example, dell servers download latest system update utility (suu) iso, burn dvd, , run on server.

2. please verify nic power management features disabled in adapter settings in windows in server bios (if option exists).  may want try setting link speed auto if not or gigabit if set auto test.

3. please try different switch port in case port faulty , try swapping out network patch cable new one.

4. benefit of external users recommend enable rd keep-alives, , restart server.  may done opening gpedit.msc on server , changing following setting:

computer configuration\administrative templates\windows components\remote desktop services\remote desktop session host\connections

configure keep-alive connection interval     enabled

keep-alive interval:  1

5. if using "fancy" nic features teaming, failover config, etc. recommend experiment more basic, single network port configuration in order see if problem still occurs.  may wish experiment disabling advanced nic features such tcp offload, ethernet@wirespeed, flow control, large send offload, etc.

6. possible nic card/port in server faulty after trying of things above may want install new card test , if fixes issue have server manufacturer replace motherboard/nic card under warranty.

thanks.
