Problem configuring HA role in Failover Cluster Manager
hi!
i'm building scenario 2 cluster nodes , standalone file server.
have created file share , witness share (node majority , file share witness, cause have number of nodes) have configured ntfs , share permissions both of hosts, storage server, mgmt server, cluster , domain user (domain admin) have full control on them.
created (via ps, on host) new vms - 1 on first host , 1 on second. next step: tried install virtual machine role on cluster (in failover manager) can configure vms ha vms, don't see vms choose. turned them off. delegated cifs/smb services storage server on both of nodes (in ad ofcourse).
should use guys, thanks!
"so there way configure csv on standalone file server" - csv stands cluster shared volume. has nothing standalone systems. thinking of question?
the csv created within cluster using storage presented cluster. storage can fibre channel, iscsi, smb, or sas. vr38dett has points performance of smb on ethernet if using standard nics. if nics support rdma, see performance. secondly, said using windows storage server, can present storage via iscsi, too. but, smb easier configure. sorry, off on tangent.
