Windows Internal Database feature really needed?

if install windows software update services noticed windows internal database gets automatically selected. if planning on installing\pointing db on remote sql server can uncheck windows internal database feature without causing problems application?

yes, sure check "database" option alternative. options in roles page bit misleading. "wid database" option option *create* database in wid feature. "database" option option *create* database in named instance not wid.

then on features screen, deselect "windows internal database" option, not install wid feature.

during post-installation setup wizard you'll prompted provide information on database instance , that's wizard create database.

RDS 2012 r2 collections show black screen and then close

greetings,   have deployed 2 server 2012 r2 rds session collections (each 2 rdsh servers, , both going through same gateway/broker server), , during testing had no issues, rolled production, our users have been experiencing black screens when attempting log in, , remote desktop window closes (no actual login performed).   seems happen intermittently, , on both collections @ different times.  thought had solved disabling use of udp in rdp clients, wasn't permanent fix.   looking @ event log of 1 of affected servers, there seems event id 36 generated @ every logon attempt following message: an error occurred when transitioning csrconnected in response evcsrinitialized.
