Use of GPP to deploy printers in a network.

are there "known issues" in distributing printers gpp concerning number of them ? let's have parc of 600 network printers, distributed on 15 sites interconnected 10 mb wan links. per experience, you'd create 1 gpp, 2 gpp, 10 gpp or 50 gpp ? login time should kept in acceptable range. the use of per site gpo is, in opinion, best approach.

in fact, want know if microsoft thought of "optimal" number of printers push in "bulk deployment" gpp in medium-sized network, , if so, number or range ?

i have configured environment had on 250 gpp printer mappings... , worked acceptable performance... if mapping 250 printers take long time users mapped approx 5 performance 1min to process entire list , quicker process list second time there no printers actions perform. so yes takes time map lot of printers , after first run delay hardly noticable... not recommend more 250 / 300 printers in 1 gpo manageability point of view.

hope helps
