Slow link detection for Roaming Profiles on Notebooks

hi,

i've trouble find right settings slow link detection roaming profiles notebook users.

so config following:

  • windows 7 enterprise clients
  • active directory in 2008 r2 native mode
  • roaming profiles stored on windows 2012 r2 file server
  • we use direct access
  • do not detect slow network connections "not configured"

i've set slow link detection value to 7654321kbps. clients in home office still fast connection. result logon time increase dramatically form 1 min. 10 min. , more.

so ask myself right settings slow link detection? or did forget anything?

i've read article https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/9d7a0b2f-3fda-484b-ad0f-f7d44016a7ab/roaming-profiles-loading-over-slow-links

best regards,

oliver

hi oliver,

before going  further, sorry delayed response.

does phenomenon happen users logging onto clients? using direct access, following article states:

using roaming user profiles directaccess clients of contents of user profile folder can result in long logon , logoff times. if want store user profiles on network locations directaccess clients, use folder redirection folders of user profile rather roaming user profiles entire user profile.

design active directory directaccess
