Trying to upgrade from Server 2000 to 2003 (Getting stuck on ADPREP /FORESTPREP)

i have widnows 2000 forrest / domain parent , child domain, both running windows 2000 ad.  when run adprep /forestprep win server 2003 cd errors out reporting following:

--
oid "0.9.2342.19200300.100.1.1" defined object cn=cognosuid,cn=schema,cn=configuration,dc=<domain>,dc=edu conflicts schema extensions needed windows 2003.

[status/consequence]

adprep not extend existing schema.

[user action]

contact vendor of application extended schema oid value "0.9.2342.19200300.100.1.1" , resolve inconsistency.  run adprep again.

i'm inheriting probelm, seems person in positon tried edit schema using 'ldp' , renamed 'uid' 'cognosuid', , 'labeleduri' 'cognoslabeleduri'.  doing did not seem help, still same error message when run adprep /forrestprep.

i'm looking ideas problem resolved.  if have suggestions, please let me know.  let me know if have questions need more information.

thanks in advance,
ian

application installed have edited schema? might want check them how go editing class.

here's guide how defunct old class , make new 1 (or export/edit/import previous objects): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307998 (if don't have objects of type "inetorgperson" safely follow guide.)

and trivia mailinglist, speaking class:

the story of 0.9.2342 arc shows rely upon big mistake during \
writing of rfc 1274. in fact 234219200300 x25 address of node in \
university college in london.  why not after ?
but, story said 0.9.2342 arc never intronized (*) \
part of itu-t main arc (0.)!

nevertheless 1 of oid, 0.9.2342.19200300.100.1.1, used worldwide , many \
rfc talk it. in rfc1274, section 9.3.1 defined computer login name \
of user in project pilot cosine x500 schema internet in \
1991. historically, these oids created pratically example.

but today, see rfc 2798 , rfc3383, mapped onto attribute of \
inetorgperson object in x500 dictionaries called userid , official identity \
uid! seems registered @ iana.
