Prompted to change security to access folder

i'm using windows server 2008 , keep having problem accessing various folders.  i'm domain admin , domain admins member of local administrators group.  local administrators group has full control of folders i'm trying access.

when double click on folder, prompt comes saying "you don't have permission access folder.  click continue access folder."  if click continue view permissions see specific user account granted read access folder.

what's going on here?  have access folder through administrators group.  shouldn't uac prompt me elevate permissions can access folder?  seems design flaw me.

(i can put up with uac prompting me elevate permissions, having re-write ton of permissions on systems seems real mess me).

anyone know if there's way around problem?  (and i'm not willing log in "administrator")

thanks tip.  turned off uac , working want to.  bad have disable feature/hassle.  seems uac in place shoudl follow permissions outlined acl!!

it isn't worth fighting...just turn off.
