Print Server Deployed Printers
i realize there several methods deploy printers in win2012r2 , rds in general, explain me why method not appear working?
dedicated print server 15 tcpip printers installed. each different hp has correct class driver installed. each hp prints server no problem. three of ricoh printers use ricoh class driver without issue. one model ricoh had download mp 161 type 3 driver web, works flawlessly on print server.
went rds 2012r2 server , in devices , printers manually added each of class drivers printers, list of v4 drivers matched print server exactly. then added 1 ricoh v.3 driver.
on print server in print management each printer right clicked>deploy group policy... selected predefined gpo, set per machine, gpo applied ou rds server in, , loopback replace enabled.
gpupdate , rebooted rds server, logged console , of printers there expected. the drivers different story. the ricoh's use class driver, no problem. the ricohs needed v.3 driver instead using hp laserjet a4, random other hp used driver well, , couple using laserjet zjs driver. then after reboot couple of ricoh's started using v3 driver, in devices , printers model "network printer connection"
fallback driver gpo disabled. remote desktop easy print disabled. any ideas on what's going on?
***the behavior seems consistent, instance have 3 printers on server using hp laserjet p205x series pcl6 class driver, , on rds server manually installed driver, 3 printers instead using hp laserjet a4/letter pcl 6 class driver.
***also if use add printer wizard , find printer, select it, user in desktop collection, installs fine, pops confirm says it's using laserjet p205x series pcl6 class driver, printer ssdf01.domain.com (it lists differently way) installed, when @ driver using, zjs. very odd me.
hi will,
gpupdate , rebooted rds server, logged console , of printers there expected. the drivers different story. the ricoh's use class driver, no problem. the ricohs needed v.3 driver instead using hp laserjet a4, random other hp used driver well, , couple using laserjet zjs driver. then after reboot couple of ricoh's started using v3 driver, in devices , printers model "network printer connection"
we have experienced scenario non-matching driver selected printer when there multiple printer drivers installed.
i suggest change driver printers manually through print management:
- open mmc -> add/remove snap-in -> print management.
- in left pane, click print servers, click applicable print server (or add local server), , click printers.
- in center pane, right-click printer driver want change or update, , click properties.
- click advanced tab.
- select new driver driver box, or click new driver install new printer driver.
more information you:
update , manage printer drivers
