Can't Search inside sql files - Windows 2008
i need search contents of .sql files. windows server 2008 r2 not it. there steps 1 perform in windows xp make kind of search work (see bottom of post link , instruction). registry key 1 instructed add present in windows 2008 r2, not perform inside file searchs.
on forum learn train myself in entirely technology , write special code can extend windows search index contents , properties estranged file type.
it seems inconceiveable me file type (.sql) left out of 200 built in file types part of search capabilty.
is there simpler way can add search capability? thank you.

1. open regedit
2. go hkey_classes_root\.sql
3. add new key persistenthandler
4. set default value key {5e941d80-bf96-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb}
i believe came across (or similar) problem few years ago. think in xp figure indexing service include specified file extensions in searches (i haven't looked on w2k8, still may be able configure indexing service). i found complex , wrote own vbscript program search files contain specified string. later found findstr command line utility. checked windows server 2008 r2 machine , still available. there @ command console prompt, although syntax bit difficult. if helps, vbscript program (which use constantly) linked here:
