Update KB2272691 always available to install even though it correctly installs each time I try to (2008 R2)
hi,
windows update on 1 of windows 2008 r2 servers shows kb2272691 update available install.
the update installed first time on aug 26 , reported status of installed. next day checked wsus , reported machine still needs update. logged on machine , true enough, windows update showed update ready install, checked update history , update installed on previous day. installed manually, restarted (even though did not ask) , checked again updates. again, update shown available, installed , checked updates, again shown needed , ready install.
i went microsoft.com , downloaded update hand , installed it, same result. checked directly updates microsoft update on machine, still update shows needed, installed it, same result. due this, update being installed every day windows update scheduler same result. far, windows update history shows update has been installed 6 times , pending installation tonight's schedule.
any idea happening here or how can fix this?
thanks.

or, of course, suggested in original thread.. can call product support services.
but statement, earlier in cited thread, significant symptom!
many updates (>75%) not shown in installed updates concerning microsoft windows.
i surmise system has corrupted datastore if updates have been installed, , "next step" stop windows updates service, rename %windir%\software distribution folder , restart windows updates service , observe results.
