Client doesnt show up in WSUS admin console no matter what
hi,
i have offline wsus server reinstalled after recent failure of server hdd.
i have configured far know clients not showing in console.
below client diag log.please suggest problem is.
note: server not connected internet im importing updates wsus server present in different domain , different network.

no errors can found form client diagnostics.
if cannot clients appear on computers page in wsus console, problem client self-update, mechanism wsus uses update sus client wsus client (automatic updates) software.
ms have template troubleshoot issue client computer not reporting in wsus, may refer troubleshoot issue.
- troubleshoot client computer connectivity
- open command prompt window.
- contact wsus server: pingwsusservername.
- contact wsus http server. open internet explorer , in address bar, type: http://wsusservername:portnumber wsusservername name of wsus server, , portnumber port has been configured (for example, 80 http, 443 ssl, , 8530 custom port).
- verify existence of self-update tree. in internet explorer address bar, type: http://wsusservername/selfupdate/wuident.cab
- if wsus server functioning properly, should see file download window asks whether open or save file. close window.
- troubleshoot automatic update client
- open command prompt window.
- type:
reg query hklm\software\policies\microsoft\windows\windowsupdate.
you should see output following if client computer has been configured updates wsus server:
hkey_local_machine\software\policies\microsoft\windows\windowsupdate wuserver reg_sz http://wsusservername wustatusserver reg_sz http://wsusservername hkey_local_machine\software\policies\microsoft\windows\windowsupdate\au
you should see output similar following if automatic update functioning, client computer has not been configured updates wsus server:
hkey_local_machine\software\policies\microsoft\windows\windowsupdate hkey_local_machine\software\policies\microsoft\windows\windowsupdate\au
if query returns error, "the system unable find specified registry key or value," automatic update has not been configured on computer.
if output step 2 contains values wuserver , wustatusserver, try contact wsus server listed in these values.
- open internet explorer , in address bar type http://wuserver
wuserver stands value in output step 2.
you should see "under construction" page if wuserver value valid. if not, http error message.
- reset automatic update client
- open command prompt window.
- type wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow.
- wait 10 minutes detection cycle finish.
