Upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8.1


when upgrade windows 10 windows 8.1 apps not working, start menu not there, no spartan  browser installed, windows update not there, boot becomes slow. tell me can do.

re : no spartan  browser installed

you right. spartan not installed. apparently ms having problem , decided not include in 9926.

re : windows update not there

windows update moved to  settings > update , recovery > windows update.

re : start menu not there

ms aware of issue. happens users, not all.

start menu

  • when boot windows 10 technical preview, start menu may not appear. checking updates may fix problem. check updates without start menu, following:

    1. select internet explorer icon.

    2. type http://update.microsoft.com address bar , select enter.

    3. if prompted run control, click yes.

    4. this should bring check updates window. install updates.

  • if no update available, or available updates don’t fix issue, restart device–this should make start menu appear. reboot without using start menu:

    1. hold down windows key , select l lock device. swipe or select enter open sign in screen. select power icon on log in screen restart computer.            
      or

    2. hold down windows key , select r bring command prompt. in prompt, type shutdown –r restart.
