Cached memory not being released for Hyper-V virtual machine

hi

we have windows server 2008r2 sp1 server hyper-v installed.  server has got total of 132gb of memory , virtual machines uses 60gb of memory.  large file copy attempeted on server resulted in free memory went cahced memory.  issue when file copy completed, cached memory never released free memory. hence cannot startup new virtual machines due lack of memory.  ended have restart server cached memory released.  have done research , found out known issue windows server 2008r2 file copy.  questions are:

  • is there way force cached memory released without restarting server?  hotfix windows server 2008r2 sp1?
  • my understanding cached memory released hyper-v virtual machine if required.  in case, didn't.  hence new virtual machine cannot started up.  can please confirmed whether cached memory supposed released hyper-v virtual machine if hyper-v virtual machine needs it?

thanks
